surfraw currently installs symlinks to gzip compressed man pages that breaks with newer portage versions' selectable compression support. The attached patch fixes the symlink generation. Thanks to Robin Zalecki who mailed me the initial report. Since he reported it ecompress has been "fixed" to automatically change the symlinks, but the patch is the right thing to do regardless. And it stops breakage should the magic be removed in the future. Thanks, James
Seemant, Time to cull old versions now? The arch teams have done a great job, and 2.1.5 is stable everywhere the old versions are and more. To that end the patch only touches 2.1.5, if I'm missing a reason to keep the others yell and I'll test them. Note this bug *doesn't* affect the previous stable version, 1.0.7, at all as it installs no man pages. Thanks!
