Description Lee Harr 2003-02-28 14:30:18 UTC
I am trying to print to a windows printer using apsfilter, but
I also can get this error message just trying to run the
ghostscript command that apsfilter tries to use to print a
test page, so I think it is a gs problem, not an apsfilter one:

Printing Test page using:
gs -q -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -dPARANOIDSAFER -dSAFER -r300x300
-sDEVICE=ijs
     -sPAPERSIZE=letter
-sIjsParams='Quality=0,ColorMode=2,MediaType=0,PenSet=2'
     -sDeviceManufacturer=HEWLETT-PACKARD -sDeviceModel='DESKJET 810'
-sIjsServer=hpijs
     -sOutputFile='/tmp/apsfilter6810/test_page.aps' setup/test.ps

Ok to print testpage? [y/n] y

     Creating test page...

   [this repeats non-stop]

I have asked on a couple of gentoo-specific lists, and on the ghostscript
bugs list with no response. Googling around about the problem suggests
that there may be something wrong with my kernel configuration, but after
seven or eight kernels I have no idea if that is it or not.

is this bug still valid?
Comment 3 Lee Harr 2003-06-28 07:49:23 UTC
I originally submitted this bug. I never was able to get it working. I tried on a few gentoo
lists and ghostscript and apsfilter lists. I tried to fix it by upgrading the whole system from
1.4_rc2 to 1.4_rc4 or so... and ended up completely hosing the system.
I ended up installing FreeBSD.

So, wish I could help, but I never got it working, and never found out what the problem was.

as we can't reproduce it anymore ... close.
