mkproto is a tool to generate prototypes from C source. It is a very old public domain package (original shar file can be found around the net). This ebuild points to a modified/cleaned up version. mkproto is a bit more robust than cproto package when it comes to dealing with typedef'd return values. It generates prototypes that are compatible with ANSI and K&R by default (using a macro). Gentoo may want to mirror this file rather than using the slightly unreliable location in the ebuild. The package worked successfully on gentoo/x86 and gentoo/ppc. Have not tried sparc, but it's assumed it will work there too. ebuild: http://www.orangetide.com/publicdomain/mkproto-0.0-r1.ebuild archive: http://www.orangetide.com/publicdomain/mkproto-0.0.tar.gz (it is version 0.0 because it never had a version on it)
i'll have a look at this. i'm particularly worried about the fact that there's no reliable source or reference for this package, and no reliable version number.
sorry, but after all this time, there doesn't seem to be any more additional interest in this ebuild by anyone else. so i'll have to close this as wontfix.
