Description David Tomaschik 2007-02-07 04:34:11 UTC
With gnupg > 2.0.1, such as 2.0.1-r1, when keychain calls gpg to prompt for a passphrase, pinentry enters an infinite loop (CPU=100%). gnupg-2.0.1 works fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge >app-crypt/gnupg-2.0.1
2. Use keychain to attempt to load a gpg key.

Actual Results:
Pinentry hangs.

Expected Results:
Pinentry prompts for passphrase and key/passphrase are cached.

Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-07 08:25:43 UTC
Works just fine here w/ keychain-2.6.8
Comment 2 Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-07 19:25:09 UTC
Works here too.

Which pinentry do you use?

Can you please try other types by putting the following at ~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf:
pinentry-program /usr/bin/pinentry-[curses|qt|gtk-2]
Comment 3 Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-14 06:49:31 UTC
Please reopen if you have some more info.
Thanks!
