Description Randall Wald 2007-02-07 00:00:31 UTC
I've had this problem with many versions of azureus, but I figured now's a good time to finally post a bug report. When I try to launch azureus, I always get the following messages:

using /home/rwald/.azureus/gentoo.config
changeLocale: *Default Language* != English (United States). Searching without country..
changeLocale: Searching for language English in *any* country..
changeLocale: no message properties for Locale 'English (United States)' (en_US), using 'English (default)'
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Could not find class: org.gudy.azureus2.ui.--ui=swt.UI
        at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.common.UserInterfaceFactory.getUI(UserInterfaceFactory.java:38)
        at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.common.Main.processArgs(Main.java:257)
        at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.common.Main.main(Main.java:164)

After this, no window appears and ps -A|grep azu returns no processes. Here's my java-config-2 settings:

The following VMs are available for generation-2:
1) Blackdown JDK 1.4.2.03 [blackdown-jdk-1.4.2]
2) Blackdown JRE 1.4.2.03 [blackdown-jre-1.4.2]
*) Sun JDK 1.5.0.10 [sun-jdk-1.5]
4) Sun JDK 1.6.0 [sun-jdk-1.6]
5) Sun JRE 1.5.0.10 [sun-jre-bin-1.5]
6) Sun JRE 1.6.0 [sun-jre-bin-1.6]

This is for both the user and system generation-2 VM. Anyway, is there some problem with my system causing azureus to not start, or is this a bug others have found?

Oh, and here's emerge --info if that'll help:

Please post the output of /home/rwald/.azureus/gentoo.config
And the output of running it like this:

Also, one thing which may or may not be related, but which could be important: Whenever I run revdep-rebuild, it insist of rebuilding swt, even though it did so the last time I ran revdep-rebuild. I could run it again and give you the libraries it cites if you think it would be helpful.

This is the format of the file nowadays. I guess the migration from the old file was not done properly at some point in your machine.

That fixed it. Thanks!

Well I would like to find out how you ended with the old format configuration file in the first place. Please post the outputs of genlop -t azureus and genlop -t azureus-bin (emerge genlop if you don't have it)

Well I checked upgrading from azureus-bin-2.3* which works fine now so I don't think it's worth spending more time on this. If more people start hitting this then we should reopen.
