I can't put it better than "SuperGentooer" did in the forums: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-372368-highlight-ogle.html ************************************************************************** Ogle will run with a blank screen with sound after you run applications like MPlayer using Xv, which sets the attribute XV_AUTOPAINT_COLORKEY to 0 after running. The color key needs to be set to 1 for Ogle to work properly. To set this value back to 1 when you want to run Ogle, emerge xvattr and type the following: xvattr -a XV_AUTOPAINT_COLORKEY -v 1 You can place that line in the script /usr/bin/ogle if you want it to be done automatically. ****************************************************************************** It seems this problem has been around for years. It is still alive today, on a system updated this week. SuperGentooer's workaround works, but the next update of ogle will overwrite the script. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run mplayer 2. Close mplayer 3. Run ogle and open a DVD Actual Results: sound from the DVD and a black screen
package is no longer in portage, closing
