When merging slimserver-alienbbc with mplayer installed without live, the process fails in the pkg_preinst stage causing a record to be written into /var/db/pkg. However, since the install doesn't complete portage complains about an incomplete merge. Wouldn't it be better to check for the live use flag on mplayer in an earlier stage like src_compile so we don't run into merge problems?
Kindly reopen with actual build errors...
