Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-06 14:29:57 UTC
While trying to re-digest the package in summary for Manifest2 compliancy (see GLEP44), the sources for the packages are unfetchable on their original site.

M gnustep-apps/gmines/ChangeLog
M gnustep-apps/gwnet/ChangeLog
M gnustep-apps/mylibrary/ChangeLog
M gnustep-base/mknfonts/ChangeLog
M x11-misc/ASFiles/ChangeLog

For safety, I didn't rebuild the manifest.s

Thanks,
Diego

I'll look at the gnustep packages tonight to see if they need a bump or a kick.

Diego, I'm sorry to say this, but go fix your internet connection. I can download the sources fine. Judging from your recent posts on -dev and Mike replying he can download the sources fine, gives me the impression something is fuxx0rzed on your side. Maybe your ISP has gone crazy in trying to stop you "stealing music" or something. Another good one to look for is whether your DNS resolver works fine.
Comment 3 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-06 21:51:46 UTC
Uhm, I ran them through two different boxes with different resolver settings, and they still got that (since Mike said that, I started looking more that the connection).
Comment 4 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2007-02-06 21:55:08 UTC
hmmm wait... You check on the real source URI, right? So if it's on the distfiles you don't like that. I only know for 100% sure that gmines is still there (on some xxx.it server). I didn't check the others doing the real URL, I only did ebuild xxx fetch, so they probably came from the distfile mirrors.
Comment 5 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-06 22:04:24 UTC
export GENTOO_MIRRORS=" "
ebuild foo fetch

this is basically what I do, so yes, if it's not on original SRC_URI it fails.
And yes, gnustep.it 404s on at least some of the tarballs, that I seen during the run.

(works fine, I just killed it)

% env GENTOO_MIRRORS=" " DISTDIR="/var/tmp/junk" /usr/bin/ebuild mknfonts-0.5.ebuild fetch
>>> Downloading 'http://w1.423.telia.com/~u42308495/alex/backart/mknfonts-0.5.tar.gz'
######################################################################## 100.0%
!!! Couldn't download 'mknfonts-0.5.tar.gz'. Aborting.

(seems Debian took over the sources somehow, need to look into it)

% env GENTOO_MIRRORS=" " DISTDIR="/var/tmp/junk" /usr/bin/ebuild mylibrary-0.4.5g-r1.ebuild fetch
>>> Downloading 'http://www.people.virginia.edu/~yc2w/MyLibrary/MyLibrary-0.4.5g.tar.gz'
######################################################################## 100.0%
!!! Couldn't download 'MyLibrary-0.4.5g.tar.gz'. Aborting.

(upstream is dead/disappeared)

% env GENTOO_MIRRORS=" " DISTDIR="/var/tmp/junk" /usr/bin/ebuild gwnet-0.1.0.7.1.ebuild fetch
>>> Downloading 'http://www.gnustep.it/enrico/gworkspace/gworkspace-0.7.1.tar.gz'

curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404
!!! Couldn't download 'gworkspace-0.7.1.tar.gz'. Aborting.

("too old", upstream removed distfile, need to update)

% env GENTOO_MIRRORS=" " DISTDIR="/var/tmp/junk" /usr/bin/ebuild gmines-0.1-r1.ebuild fetch
>>> Downloading 'http://www.gnustep.it/marko/GMines/GMines.tgz'
######################################################################## 100.0%
!!! Couldn't download 'GMines.tgz'. Aborting.

curl chokes on it, but the file is fine:
% tar -ztf /var/tmp/junk/GMines.tgz

GMines/
GMines/Views.h
GMines/Views.m
GMines/Icons/
GMines/Icons/GMines.tiff
GMines/Controller.h
GMines/Controller.m
GMines/main.m
GMines/GNUmakefile
GMines/GMinesInfo.plist

I'll fix the remaining ones later

Fixed.
Comment 8 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2007-03-06 07:53:42 UTC
For my information: how was this fixed?
Comment 9 Piotr Jaroszyński (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-06 11:57:57 UTC
Sorry, misread the bug. Seems that mknfonts, gworkspace and mylibrary still need some love. It's just not one of the Manifest2 transition bugs any more, which I was cleaning yesterday.
Comment 10 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2007-03-06 11:59:21 UTC
ok, thanks!
Comment 11 Bernard Cafarelli gentoo-dev 2007-09-10 19:16:37 UTC
mknfonts uses debian mirrors now
gworkspace is updated to latest version
mylibrary now uses files from gentoo mirrors

So, everything is fixed now
