Description Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2007-02-06 09:20:30 UTC
With mysql-query-browser 1.2.9rc (part of dev-db/mysql-gui-tools 5.0_p9) it is not possible to edit tables with information. This bug is also reported upstream as http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=25837 but from the bug it is not clear if this is an issue with Gentoo or with upstream, because some users report that the problem goes away with upstream packages. Not sure if those are binary or source packages, though.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start mysql-query-browser and connect to a database as root with sufficient rights
2. Show the contents of a table by executing the default query for it (double-clicking)
3. See how the 'Start editing' button remains gray.

I just tried downgrading to mysql-gui-tools-5.0_p8 but I'm getting compilation errors, and mysql-gui-tools-5.0_p6 gives me a Digest verification error:

!!! Digest verification failed:
!!! /usr/portage/distfiles/mysql-gui-tools-5.0r6.tar.gz
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
!!! Got: 22832216
!!! Expected: 21773248

So I can't easily check if either of these versions do work fine.

So I've now downgraded dev-db/mysql to 5.0.26-r2. This fixes the compilation issue with mysql-gui-tools-5.0_p8, and with this version I can again edit tables. Just to be sure I also checked mysql-gui-tools-5.0_p9 against mysql-5.0.26-r2, but this combination does not allow me to edit tables.

mysql-gui-tools 5.0-p10 fixes this for me (tested on AMD64 and x86).
