somebody already tried a q'n'd patch (see http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-dev-eng/2006-January/039610.html) for this one year ago but there is still no real solution (tested with mplayer 1.0rc1-4.1.1).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. take one (or more) ogg files containing theora video
2. mplayer filename.ogg
3. press [o] twice for displaying position and total time
4. get surprised
5. get drunk

Actual Results:  
total movie length is displayed about (not exactly!) 60 times larger than it really is

Expected Results:  
displayed movie length should be identic with its real movie length

the bug seems to be anywhere in demux_ogg.c

Not a Gentoo bug, try your luck upstream.
