It would be a nice feature if the failure of an ebuild to emerge offered to automatically send an email to the package maintainer including the top level build info etc. That way the maintainer will receive the correct information to help diagnose the problem. The maintainer should be able to select what versions bother to sent info and what information is sent as a result of the failure.
