Description D. C. Sessions 2007-02-05 16:57:34 UTC
Perversely: dev-java/bsh-2.0_beta4 and dev-java/bsh-2.0_beta4-r1 are masked by ~x86, but openoffice-2.1.0 is stable even though it requires them.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -uDp world

Actual Results:

---------------------------------------------------------------

emerge -uDp world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies -
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=dev-java/bsh-2.0_beta4" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-java/bsh-2.0_beta4 (masked by: ~x86 keyword)
- dev-java/bsh-2.0_beta4-r1 (masked by: ~x86 keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
(dependency required by "app-office/openoffice-2.1.0" [ebuild])

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for app-office/openoffice
!!! Depgraph creation failed.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Expected Results:
The usual list of packages needing updates

Which is especially interesting since bsh-2.0_beta4-r1 is installed. revdep-rebuild reports clean.

And yet:

---------------------------------------------------------------

emerge -p openoffice

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-2.1.0

---------------------------------------------------------------

works like a champ.

Looks like something borked in portage, at least as far as error reporting is concerned.
