Does anyone have an ebuild for any version of the official (non-serialmonkey) rt73 driver that will compile on amd64: http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/data/RT73_Linux_STA_Drv1.0.4.0.tar.gz The last 48 hours have been an rt73 nightmare.
There is a detailed wiki on the manual process involved here: http://gentoo-wiki.com/Howto_wirelss_RT73_USB
I've actually got the rt2x00 driver that is included with 2.6.24 working with wpa_supplicant on WPA now.

drivers from 2.6.24 don't support ad-hoc mode :(
