Description Paulo J. Matos 2007-02-05 00:19:53 UTC
hal by default passes noexec option for mounting unless you override it using the exec option. This is a problem when you use, for example, KDE which uses hal and doesn't allow you to specify which options to mount with.

So, it would be nice to patch hal so that exec becomes a default. Maybe it would be nice to enable to use the patch conditionally through an exec use flag.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect device not found in fstab
2. Open media:/ in konqueror
3. Mount
4. Try to run script inside device

Actual Results:
Result is 'access denied' because it was mounted with noexec flag.

I'm sorry but what do you mean by that?

Not a Gentoo bug, we are not going to change upstream defaults.
