Description kevin j. anderson 2003-02-27 20:54:17 UTC
When trying to emerge hostap w/ a linksys wmp11 prism 2.5 pci wireless card, i
get this error:
>>> md5 ;-) hostap-2002-10-12.tar.gz
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking hostap-2002-10-12.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/hostap-20021012-

 * Applying hostap-20021012-gentoo-patch.diff...                          [ ok ]
sed: -e expression #1, char 82: Unknown option to `s'
>>> Source unpacked.
make: *** No rule to make target `pci'. Stop.

!!! ERROR: net-wireless/hostap-20021012-r1 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 67, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.  emerge hostap
2.
3.

1.4 rc2 synced and emerged -u world to latest packages. using ~x86 keyword.
I tried both the regular and -r1 hostap ebuild. I managed to get it installed
a few weeks ago, but was getting unresolved symbols errors when insmoding the
hostap_pci module, and went back to the linux-wlan-ng drivers. I would like to
get hostap working for hostap and fakeap though.

Problem should be resolved. Try syncing and re-emerging in about an hour once the edited version hits rsync servers. Was trying to do a sed line replacing something which didn't exist because you aren't using pcmcia. Please report back w/ how hostap works for you, i'm considering having it included in the new liveCDs.
