Description Nolan Eakins 2007-02-04 02:14:13 UTC
The Gizmo Project's binaries are 32 bit and require GConf2. The emul-linux-gtk package does not provide this, and there's no way to rebuild these emul packages myself. Could GConf2 be added to the list of libraries included in the above package?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the tarball for the Gizmo Project at gizmoproject.com
2. Untar and run it
3. Enjoy

Actual Results:
It complained about not being able to find GConf2's libraries

Expected Results:
To actually be able to use Gizmo.

Unless something in the official tree needs this, then no...

So how do I go about adding additional libraries for use by 32 bit apps?

Already told you that supporting third-party stuff not in the tree is not our problem.

So it's not your problem but it's currently mine. How are these emul-linux-* packages created?

Last time someone told us in Bug 165217, Comment #3 that it's very easy and that -m32 works just fine. Good luck. :)
