Description Mark Clegg 2007-02-02 21:06:09 UTC
When emerging app-emulation/virtualbox, the Windows Virtual Machine additions are not built, and the Virtual Machine Additions .iso file is not created.

I suspect this is not possible as building the Windows drivers requires a Windows development environment.

Would it be possible to include a pre-built set of Windows Additions to the distfiles or add a suitable warning to the ebuild?

the additions ISO (VBoxGuestAdditions.iso) contains prebuild additions
for Linux and Windows, this ISO is distribuited with the full VirtualBox binaries (VirtualBox_1.3.2_Linux_x86.run atm) not the svn source.
Linux and Windows guest additions hasn't been opensourced and Windows
additions can be build only on Windows.

This powerful piece of sotware is released under dual licensing GPL and PUEL.
I think gentoo can redistribute this additions but first someone has to ask
Innotek for permission.
