Description Gary Richards 2007-02-01 14:34:22 UTC
My /etc/conf.d/wireless

mac_essid_000C76AC2138="dennis"
key_dennis="s:'my wacky1 key'"
preferred_aps=( "dennis" )
blacklist_aps=( "Belkin54g" )

My setup is an access point that doesn't broadcast its essid.

When I /etc/init.d/net.eth1 start with the above config, I get:
# /etc/init.d/net.eth1 restart
*snip*
 *   Scanning for access points
 *     Found "<hidden>" at 00:0C:76:AC:21:38 (managed, encrypted)
 *       mapping to "dennis"
iwconfig: unknown command "wacky1"
 * eth1 does not support setting keys
 * or the parameter "mac_key_dennis" or "key_dennis" is incorrect
 * Couldn't associate with any access points on eth1

I tried a number of variations for key_dennis=, including:
key_dennis="s:'my wacky1 key'"
key_dennis="s:'my wacky1 key' enc open"
key_dennis="s:my wacky1 key"
key_dennis="s:'my\ wacky1\ key'"
key_dennis="s:my\ wacky1\ key"

If I echo ${key} in /lib/rcscripts/net/iwconfig.sh is outputs:
s:'my wacky1 key'

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create key_essid that contains spaces
2. start wireless interface init script
3.

Actual Results:
# /etc/init.d/net.eth1 restart
