Description Jeff Laughlin 2003-02-27 09:52:25 UTC
I'm setting up Gentoo on an old box with a dead cmos battery and I was too lazy
to fix the datetime, so the computer thought it was something like 1997.
Everytime I tried to "emerge -u binutils" it would get to "Creating Makefile",
then it would jump back to the beginning of the configure process and go
through it untill it got back to "Creating Makefile" again, and it would just
keep going forever. Setting the system clock to the correct datetime fixed it.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set system clock to ~1997
2. emerge binutils
3.

Actual Results:
Goes into "creating makefile" loop

Expected Results:
Build binutils

I guess if you're too lazy to set your system clock, you get what you deserve.

this is not a issue (special not a gentoo issue)
