I tried to install hal-device-manager. But the gnome-python ebuild failed. So i updated gnome-vfs from 2.12.2 to 2.16.3 After this, gnome-python did build. Reproducible: Always
Hmm... As far as the package or gnome bugzilla is concerned, 2.9.3 is good enough. Could you post the build log from the failure?
sorry, I didnt turn build logging on yet (sorry didnt even knows its possible, until now I used nohup to save a log, and use a self-written script to extract the ebuild-messages later... but this time I didnt). But it was a linking-error (symbol not found) while compiling and the messages contained something about vfs. First I ran revdep-rebuild, but everything was ok. So I updated gnome-vfs (wich updated some other gome-packages as dependency) and then it worked. Ok, thank you for checking this! I thought as many other gnome-packages had an updated version of other gnome-packages as dependency it could be the same here, but if this is not the case, it surely was some other problem with my out-of-date system :) so forget everything I said..
