Yeah the build system seems to call ruby like this: betelgeuse@pena /var/tmp/portage/dev-java/datavision-1.0.0-r2/work/datavision-1.0.0 $ grep ruby build.xml <exec executable="ruby" > <exec executable="ruby" > <exec executable="ruby" outputproperty="version" > <exec executable="ruby" dir="${docs}" > <exec executable="ruby" dir="${docs}" > <exec executable="ruby" dir="${docs}" > <exec executable="ruby" > Yack. + 29 Jan 2007; Petteri Räty <betelgeuse@gentoo.org> + datavision-1.0.0-r2.ebuild: + The build system needs ruby so we need to always DEPEND on it. I chose jruby + over dev-lang/ruby because we might be needing jruby for the scripting + support with the ruby use flag during runtime too. Fixes bug #164402. + Thanks for reporting.
The Bug remains with the exact same failure, i.e. an identical error. dev-java/jruby is now tied in as a dependency as the resolution (above) suggests. jruby does not tie in dev-lang/ruby itself, though. I'm not shure wether this ought to be a jruby bug now, so here it goes.

I misread the error message, there IS a slight difference (sorry!): BUILD FAILED /var/tmp/portage/datavision-1.0.0-r2/work/datavision-1.0.0/build.xml:308: Execute failed: java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: jruby: not found It does not find jruby. Keywording jruby (and asm, jline, jvyaml in consequence) got me into business: Thanks!
(In reply to comment #4) > > It does not find jruby. > > Keywording jruby (and asm, jline, jvyaml in consequence) got me into business: > > Thanks! > Yeah it seems the stable version does not install the jruby script. Thanks for reporting.
