I think that the USB guide should be it's own guide, and the current one in the Desktop Config Guide is somewhat vague. I've done usb config by myself and had no problems, until I tried to use the guide to install a USB mouse, and other things, on a remote computer. I resorted to going to the source (www.usb-linux.org) and reading for about 1 minute there. I would be willing to attempt to make these changes myself, or perhaps even start a USB Guide (though I don't own much USB peripherals and have only gotten the mouse, mass storage (digital camera) and the Sony Clie working. I do think that USB being as large as it is, deserves it's own set of docs.
yeah, it said nothing of the ohci usb host controller... I was stuck without a mouse for quite some time while i was figuring it out. The guy who installed my computer didn't see nvidia on the ohci... (yay for me for figuring out a bunch of stuff and getting it to work... I actually read some man pages and asked friends how to get my mouse and kb working... (btwn disableXkb is very important) gamming kernel r1 (hate to just gripe... cause this is the best installation except for knoppix that I've ever had) -AP
I just got an updated doc published by IBM. I will post the updated gentoo guide when allowed.
would it be possible to add the guide to this bug so we can take a look at it and make comments before you post it on the site? That would be good, but if you can't, that's OK.
