Which version of kopete? I assume kde-base/kopete rather than net-im/kopete
i use 3.5.5-r2 but today i tested with 3.5.6 and i've got the same results.
update: i tried to log in under kopete 3.5.5 under kantotix at a friend's and got the same results i got home. 30 contacts, the last one in the group truncated...
You said that splitting in 2 groups you got truncated only the first group... Does this happened at the same contact? Could it be something like a special character in the name (and your kopete ,without that char, goes nut)?
Could it be due to a server side limitation? I don't no wether yur IM-Server likes huge contact lists.
@Mateo, I'm not sure. After removing ~/.kde/share/apps/kopete/ and ~/.kde/share/config/kopeterc I only get 27 contacts in that group, but this time the last one's name isn't truncated anymore... BUT I do remember seing a square next to the truncated names, as if kopete was trying to display some weird char it shouldn't. @Matthias, In kopete I'm using the same server I'm using in Gaim (the default in both). As I said before, my contact list appears just fine under other clients...
It's kde-base/kopete. Kopete 3.5.6 is also broken :(
Created attachment 117992 [details, diff] fix for the contacts loss bug on yahoo protocol. This is a patch wrote by Andre Duffeck (kopete dev). I've tested it and it works ok. Could someone include it in the tree untill a new version gets out?
I have the same problem, only for the msn protocol so the patch really doesn't help me.
I can't reproduce this problem with about 130 contacts using kopete-3.5.7. Is this still a problem for anyone with 3.5.7?
Please reopen this bug if it is still an issue in KDE 3.5.7.
