I can't reproduce this. Your kernel is vanilla-sources-2.6.17.13, isn't it?. Please attach the full emerge log (use PORT_LOGDIR in make.conf or command line for example).
Comment 2 Andrew MacKenzie 2007-01-28 01:00:16 UTC
Yes, that's my kernel. I used PORT_LOGIDR and I didn't see anything beyond what I've posted (pasted below).

 * Determining the location of the kernel source code
 * Found kernel source directory:
 *     /usr/src/linux
 * Found sources for kernel version:
 *     2.6.18-gentoo-r3

What happens if you point your /usr/src/linux to the sources of the kernel you are running?

I think to reproduce this bug we need to be running a kernel with with a version number of x.y.z.v. The Makefiles use uname -r but the ebuild uses only the first three numbers.
Comment 5 Petteri Räty (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-31 18:44:20 UTC
Please test dev-java/jss-4.2 with the same configuration.
Comment 6 Andrew MacKenzie 2007-02-02 03:55:10 UTC
4.1 doesn't have the same problem, and seems to compile and install, but I get a ton of the following errors throughout the build:
Execution of -e aborted due to compilation errors.

er, I meant 4.2...

Yeah seen those myself too but the final result seems fine.
