I tried to follow the installation instructions as on http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86-install.xml. After Is did step 9.3 (chroot) I had no more access to the internet or tools like adsl-setup and therefore couldn't do "emerge sync" in the next step. In a different/old Terminal ([alt]+3) I could still access the internet (and adsl-status) but that was now use as I couldn't do "emerge sync" there. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
You should be able to get your network up and running outside the chroot. Once inside the chroot, the network will continue to work. You shouldn't need to re-run adsl-setup, I hope? Closing this bug. If there are still problems, re-open it.
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this.
