I downloaded yesterday the latest amd64 liveCD, It started gnome correctly, but when I try to click on any openoffice program, it does not work. I looked at the console's output and this is what I get if I try to start [for example oowriter2: livecd gentoo # oowriter2 /usr/lib32/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory And, yes, there is no libXext.so.6 file in this system [searched through slocate]. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot from amd64 LiveCD 2.Try to start any OpenOffice program 3. Actual Results: This error Expected Results: Open openoffice :D I think this is major because the major advantage from this liveCD to the minimal CD is that you can 'work' a bit while installing gentoo :)
Yes. Latest... *Exactly* which LiveCD is this?
I mean latest I could get through http://bouncer.gentoo.org/?product=gentoo-2006.1-livecd&os=amd64 in www.gentoo.org main web.
Any news on this front? I will test liveDVD (for amd64) tomorrow and I will post if this bug is in this media too.
Why? It's not like we're going to fix the old media, so don't waste your time. We'll have a new release out soon enough, and this will be "fixed" because we'll be sure it works on the new media.
Ok, please be sure to post this fix when new media is going to be released.
Does this problem still exist on the 2007.0 media?
(In reply to comment #6) > Does this problem still exist on the 2007.0 media? > Andrew, this problems seems to be solved in amd64 2007.0 LiveCD media [not tested liveDVD, but I think it would be solved there too] and thus, OpenOffice loads perfectly in 2007.0 media. Thanks, I'll close this bug
