try abi 1.0.4 . Are you sure it doesn't show at all.. isn't it somewhere in the corner of your screen or even outside that area ? (sounds odd, but i know it does happen)
Comment 2 roma1390 2003-02-25 14:59:34 UTC
yes, out of screen.

to start use: /usr/bin/AbiWord -geometry +0+0
this is still bug, may be ned to change /usr/bin/AbiWord, and add this option into this startup script
Comment 3 Stanislav Brabec 2003-02-27 11:08:13 UTC
General issue, reporting to Abiword developers: http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4655

Please watch also http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4583 - it makes 1.0.4 unusable outside English speaking community (confirmed not only with Japanese, but also Czech).
Comment 4 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-03 15:39:15 UTC
well, if their team isn't gonna fix it.. we won't either.. we'll just have to hope for a more stable gtk+2 release soon.
Comment 5 roma1390 2003-03-03 16:48:30 UTC
hmmm, You can easy add warning about this error into ebuild or change shell script
/ust/bin/AbiWord and add change from:
$ABISUITE_LIBEXEC/AbiWord_s "$@"
to:
$ABISUITE_LIBEXEC/AbiWord_s -geometry +0+0 "$@"
Comment 6 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-03 17:44:45 UTC
hmm thats not a bad idea.. let's see
