abiword does'nt show main interface. shows only splash screen about 2 sec. then hides, /usr/bin/abiword -verbose 2 -show doesn't help, and doesn't print any errror. cpu is in idle. try abi 1.0.4 . Are you sure it doesn't show at all.. isn't it somewhere in the corner of your screen or even outside that area ? (sounds odd, but i know it does happen)
yes, out of screen. to start use: /usr/bin/AbiWord -geometry +0+0 this is still bug, may be ned to change /usr/bin/AbiWord, and add this option into this startup script
General issue, reporting to Abiword developers: http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4655 Please watch also http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4583 - it makes 1.0.4 unusable outside English speaking community (confirmed not only with Japanese, but also Czech).
well, if their team isn't gonna fix it.. we won't either.. we'll just have to hope for a more stable gtk+2 release soon.
hmmm, You can easy add warning about this error into ebuild or change shell script /ust/bin/AbiWord and add change from: $ABISUITE_LIBEXEC/AbiWord_s "$@" to: $ABISUITE_LIBEXEC/AbiWord_s -geometry +0+0 "$@"
hmm thats not a bad idea.. let's see
