Description tom.ashley 2007-01-23 15:57:16 UTC
when installing aquamarine it fails with the following
"
checking for kdecoration.h... no
configure: error: Unable to find KDecoration. Make sure you have the kdebase development package installed.
"

my assumption is it requires kdebase or kwin as a dependancy that is not currently in the ebuild.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge -v aquamarine

I used to have KDE installed, but have 'emerge -C' various packages of the KDE libraries and apps and aquamarine is obviously one i missed. It got picked up here by a world update.

I have kde installed by using -meta packages. Seems that kwin is the one needed.

$ locate kdecoration.h
/usr/kde/3.5/include/kdecoration.h

$ equery belongs /usr/kde/3.5/include/kdecoration.h
[ Searching for file(s) /usr/kde/3.5/include/kdecoration.h in *... ]
kde-base/kwin-3.5.6 (/usr/kde/3.5/include/kdecoration.h)

aquamarine is not yet in gentoo's offical tree, I guess you are using the xeffect overlay. You should report this bug using their bug tracking tool.
Please check "http://trac.gentoo-xeffects.org/" for that pupose.

Can the reporter please close this bug? Thx!

po
