Hm, I don't have mozilla-firefox installed, but -bin. Might this be a problem? I just tried it again and now it wants to install it first, it's running at the moment.

Actually the ebuild has a dependency on >=mozilla-firefox-1.5-r9 when you use the firefox use-flag (and no support for mozilla-firefox-bin whatsoever). So you must have done something to circumvent, which actually makes this not a bug. Nothing to do here, closing
