Description walt 2007-01-19 02:59:15 UTC
Click on the panel clock applet to drop down the calendar
applet. Double-click on any date to open the evolution
calendar/appointment book.

The day displayed in evolution is the day *prior* to the one
you clicked on.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
The day displayed in evolution should be the same date as the
one you double-clicked.

This bug is specific to gentoo. Ubuntu and FreeBSD work as
expected. Perhaps this is caused by one of the gentoo patches for evolution?
Comment 1 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2007-02-08 09:06:06 UTC
It works correctly for me. Please tell us what versions of gnome-panel, evolution and evolution-data-server you have and your emerge --info, if you still have the problem. If this is fixed with later versions, please tell us that too ;)
Thanks.

Comment 3 walt 2007-02-09 14:03:09 UTC
The panel clock applet opens evolution like this:
evolution calendar:///?startdate=20070209

When I type that at a command prompt, evolution opens with 20070208 displayed --
i.e. the day prior to the one specified.

Can you reproduce that?

BTW, this is evolution-2.8.3 on my ~x86 machine.
Comment 4 walt 2007-02-09 14:23:07 UTC
Aha! On ubuntu the clock-applet calls evolution like this:
evolution calendar:///?startdate=20070209T120000
which works properly. I wonder if my gentoo gnome needs some date/time setting
changed. Any ideas?
Comment 5 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2007-02-10 10:18:13 UTC
Evolution has its own timezone settings iirc. If those differ, it might get off by a day due to timezone being different for example just an hour, but the date passed is considered to have a time of 00:00.
However, I don't think this should cause a problem like this, regardless of the possible timezone difference (if that's the cause at all). At any rate, reopening based on information provided

This confuses me. Please see my comment at

Comment 7 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-27 18:25:10 UTC
Hum, this seems to be broken still in evo 2.23.x

Does anyone care to get this fixed upstream? I for one do not care as I don't use evolution at all. Bottom line, if anyone wants it fixed, poke upstream.

Thanks
Comment 8 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-12-24 13:00:41 UTC
gnome-panel 2.24 passes the time as well now so I think this can be closed as fixed. Please reopen if this is not the case.
