Can you verify this works? We haven't keyworded it in the past because the package needs to be built in 64 bits due to the IOCTLs and the lack of 32 bit translations for the IOCTLs bridge-utils uses. Historically, the package builds OK but fails to setup a working bridge.

Seems to be running a working bridge here. Running bridge-utils-1.0.6-r3, as bridge-utils-1.2 caused a DoS as soon as it started bridging. I can't create a bridge manually, but it seems to work if I use /etc/conf.d/net.
