Bug 162666 – X looks for /root/xorg.conf before /etc/X11/xorg.conf

kdm is trying to load /root/xorg.conf before /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.touch /root/xorg.conf
2./etc/init.d/xdm start (given that you chose kdm)
3.

Actual Results:  
kdm fails to start as it tries to load the empty file /root/xorg.conf

Expected Results:  
kdm should not bother what is in /root

This is not a KDE bug, it is an X feature.

Yes, you're right. The search path for a configuration file looks in /root/ before /etc/X11/. If you disagree with this decision, please file an upstream bug at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=xorg and post the URL here so we can track it.
