Description aardvark 2003-02-23 16:39:55 UTC
In the Desktop guide users are told to load the module "nvidia" for their emerged
nvidia driver. This would be correct if the latest nvidia driver (4xxx) would be stable,
but it isn't and for the stable driver you'll need to load "NVdriver"

For an unsuspecting new gentoo user this can lead to some frustration, and maybe it
would be nice if it were corrected until the latest NVIDIA driver becomes stable.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. RTF Desktop M
2. Seek the bit about nvidia driver
3.
Actual Results:
I found an incosistency

Expected Results:
Load NVdriver

Fixed

Gotta reopen this one now as nvidia-kernel/glx-4349-r2 has been marked stable and the proper module
name is now "nvidia" again.

...Ad while we are at it, I also found the link to "advanced Xfree configration" ("this tutorial" right after we are told how to configure X) to be broken.. At least here, there were 3-5 spaces in the address line and it doesn't take you anywhere. That must be an easy fix too ,no?!
