Description Conrad Bebbington 2007-01-16 22:57:00 UTC
When en_GB is set in LINGUAS mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.1 installs an icon in the gnome menu for Bon Echo instead of Firefox. It also uses this name in the about box, and on the wizard that checks for updates to extensions.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
LINGUAS=en_GB emerge mozilla-firefox

Since my bug report was marked as a dup but the resolution was not posted, I will post it here:

emerge it w/ USE="-bindist"

Evidently when bindist is activated the name of the browser changes to Bon Echo and it is identified as such when connecting online, however if it is compiled without bindist then the browser is identified as Mozilla Firefox. Some websites, such as the new "My Yahoo beta" screen for supported browsers and restricts access if it does not recognize the identified browser, even if in this case it is only a renamed version of the same browser.
