Description Justace Clutter 2007-01-16 16:53:04 UTC
I tried to emerge gcl and received the following error:

      echo '(load "../tkl.o")(TK::GET-AUTOLOADS (directory "*.lisp"))' | ../../unixport/saved_gcl)

When I built it by hand I received no such error. I have subsequintly found by attempting to reporoduce the build environment that the "-s" in my LD_FLAGS was causing the problem. I removed the -s from the flags in the make.conf and it then built correctly (except for failure at known bug 161041). I am posting this as a bug since all the other applications of my system built with my original portage setup. My original emerge --info is the following:

So don't set absurd flags?

My gut tells me RESOLVED, INVALID.
Comment 2 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-16 17:03:50 UTC
"Loading ../tkl.o
Cnil_body is undefined"

I take it as because you told ld to strip all symbols, including Cnil_body with -s.
Comment 3 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-16 19:01:06 UTC
Closing, we don't care. Get this "fixed" upstream; portage strips binaries as needed.
