It would be nice if meta-ebuild is provided which will cover mozilla-firefox and mozilla-firefox-bin. Then other applications can depend on it insetad on mozilla-firefox. I am using mozilla-firefox-bin and I don't like the situation where some ebuild request to compile mozilla-firefox. Reproducible: Always
> Then other applications can depend on it insetad on mozilla-firefox. No, they can't. You cannot compile anything against mozilla-firefox-bin.
Well, for example if you emerge vlc with USE="nsplugin" it wants either mozilla-firefox or seamonkey installed. I don't think they (applications that provide nsplugin) anything else then binary version to build (they successfully build if I just set mozilla-firefox as provided package)
Not going to happen, period. You can't compile stuff against firefox-bin.
