fix typo n summary line.
Comment 4 François Bissey 2007-01-20 01:32:22 UTC
Looks very similar to the bug #147542 which is apparently fixed. I haven't
tried it with OOo-2.0.4 and did go directly for OOo-2.1.0 instead.
It compiles when I put my CFLAGS to "" instead of "-mcpu=7450 -ntune=7450 ...."
The successful runs were using -mcpu=G4(3) -mtune=G4(3) may be you should try G5
in your case. I will try G4 for myself.
Comment 5 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-25 08:58:02 UTC
That's the old bug we already had with 2.0.4, again. I hoped it would be gone now, obviously I was wrong. So I've enabled the fix / workaround from 2.0.4 in 2.1.0 too. Please try again and report back if it works.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Comment 6 François Bissey 2007-01-27 04:32:21 UTC
success! Here are my flags:
CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=7450 -mtune=7450 -pipe -maltivec -mabi=altivec -fno-strict-aliasing"
CXXFLAGS=$CFLAGS

and OOo was compiled with:

app-office/openoffice-2.1.0 USE="binfilter branding cairo cups dbus gstreamer java kde -debug -eds -firefox -gnome -gtk -ldap -odk -pam -seamonkey -sound -webdav" LINGUAS="en_GB fr -af -ar -as_IN -be_BY -bg -bn -bs -ca -cs -cy -da -de -el -en -en_US -en_ZA -es -et -fa -fi -gu_IN -he -hi_IN -hr -hu -it -ja -km -ko -lt -lv -mk -nb -nl -nn -nr -ns -or_IN -pa_IN -pl -pt -pt_BR -ru -rw -sh_YU -sk -sl -sr_CS -st -sv -sw_TZ -ta_IN -te_IN -tg -th -ti_ER -tn -tr -ts -ur_IN -ve -vi -xh -zh_CN -zh_TW -zu"

Good :) Closing this.
Comment 8 Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2007-02-09 00:47:19 UTC
I only just got a chance to test it myself now, and it's still failing.
logs look identical to last time. My use flags are different from the other commenter, so maybe some clue there.

Fail log after stabilizing 2.1.0 for ~x86

This morning 2.1.0 has been found to be stabilized for ~x86.
But emerge failed giving error message as shown in attachment.
Comment 10 Ben Cheever 2007-04-02 23:26:54 UTC
sorry, i meant to add in. It looks to me as though we need more testers. If that is the case, i'm actually looking at doing what I need to so that I can help test ebuilds. If that is going to help in the long run from preventing these types of issues. Are we just pressing to hard to get new releases out? Security fixes or not...

Please don't spam this bug with non-related bug reports, see bug #172860

@robbat2: Coming back to the original bug: do you still get this, cause actually this should be fixed by not using regcomp on ppc.
Comment 12 Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2007-04-04 03:21:48 UTC
2.1.0 as of 2007-02-27 failed.
2.1.0-r1 as of 2007-04-03 now finishes building properly!

So I guess you can close this bug now.
