Hi Nathaniel.

Thanks for a submission!
I have somewhat cleaned up the ebuild - it was quite outdated in terms of presence of all necessary vars and it did not define quite a few of the optional dependencies (and the Maintainer field is outdated - this information is now stored in ChangeLog).

However there is one more problem (still).
The postgresql dependency is hardwired as =dev-db/postgresql-7.3, which is bad as postgresql version can change at any time (and it already did). Furthermore it looks like the package should have no problem working with (more or less) arbitrary version of postgresql. Therefore some dynamic postgresql version identification is necessary.
I will have to postpone this ebuild for some time. If you could come up with some modification that would do dynamic postgresql version detection it would be nice. If not, I will try to do it on my "second pass" through the list.
I will attach the modified ebuild to the bug.

George

modified postgis-0.7.4.ebuild

The modified postgis-0.7.4.ebuild.
I removed the -r1 part of the name, since portage did not contain any revision
of 7.4 version.
