This bug reflects the upstream KDE Bug 139489 [1] media-sound/amarok-1.4.4-r3 doesn't compile when the still unofficial media-libs/libmtp-0.1.2 [2] but known as stable and more mature as media-libs/libmtp-0.0.21 is installed. Changes for media-libs/libmtp-0.1.2 have been made to block <media-sound/amarok-1.4.4-r4 I'll attach an updated Amarok ebuild (media-sound/amarok-1.4.4-r4) which includes the libmtp-0.1.2 patch but also depends on >=media-sound/libmtp-0.1.2, because when using the patch compiling doesn't work anymore when using media-sound/libmtp-0.0.21. This updated dependencies of media-libs/libmtp and media-sound/amarok requires to move the updated ebuilds concurrently to CVS to prevent non-resolvable dependencies. The upcoming Amarok-1.4.5 doesn't need this patch anymore, because it's already in its SVN. URLs: 1: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139489 2: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159056
Created attachment 107004 [details] media-sound/amarok-1.4.4-r4
Created attachment 107011 [details, diff] ${FILESDIR}/amarok-1.4.4-libmtp-0.1.2-compile.patch - makes amarok compile against libmtp-0.1.2
As there is already amarok-1.4.5 and libmtp-0.1.3 released and both are already stable on x86, whe should better concentrate on getting both stable on other arches too, so we can close this bug and remove amarok-1.4.4 ASAP from tree.
Fixed in amarok-1.4.5, stabilization in Bug 166901.
