The instant messenger sim 0.9.4.1 has an icon that is displayed in the notification area of gnome. Sometimes the icon of sim is not displayed properly (in the notification area), but is displayed in an white square in the left top part of the screen. The icon behaves normal (context menu on right click works, e.g.) and the square seems to be an ordinary window without borders.
After closing and restarting sim the icon is displayed correctly.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
First start the gnome session manager and add sim in the tab 'startup programs'. Add the gnome notification area to your panel (I have two panels, one on the top of the screen and one on the bottom. The notification area is on the bottom).
The error occurs not on every login. Try to restart X (Ctrl-Alt-Bcksp) or reboot for reproduction.
Actual Results:
The notification icon appears in an white square in the left top part of the screen (but not on the border).

Expected Results:
The icon should appear in the notification area.

I've reposted this bug report at upstream's bugzilla, so if you wish to track changes see this link:
https://developer.berlios.de/bugs/?func=detailbug&bug_id=10014&group_id=4482

I do not think fix for this problem happens before sim-0.9.5 will be released but in any way, thank you for your report Stephan. Developers should know about this problem ;)

I'll resolve this bug as UPSTREAM now as I definitely will have few time to look into sources in the near future.
