i realized, that icons from gtk apps (xchat) are now transparent in my kde kicker, but claws-mail 2.7.0.

Perhaps because Icon=claws-mail.png defined in /usr/share/applications/claws-mail.desktop isn't transparent? :-)

Did you try rebuilding claws-mail after upgrading GTK+ ? Worth a try. 

Works great here.
