Tried to install the safe way -- manually. Fails on both versions.
I think a file is not included. 
I get:
"ebuild fault: file '/usr/local/portage/www-apps/b2evolution/files/postinstall-en.txt" not found."

It then fails at the last minute to install with erros about Called dyn_install and src_install.  Then more errors that are referencing to postinstall-en.xt not being found.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Try to install on a gentoob box. ;) Kidding aside, 1.8 and 1.8.6 fails each time.

I think your overlay sucks...

# ls -1 /usr/portage/www-apps/b2evolution/files/

Directions for what exactly? The ebuild in portage is just fine; if you are using an overlay, you are on your own pretty much.
