Description Stephen Degler 2003-02-20 10:39:04 UTC
I tried to install gentoo linux (i686) onto a system based on EPOX 8k3a+ system.
I had the install drive hung off of the HPT 372 controller. The install failed
with the typical IDE dma failure messages, so I believe this is a kernel-ide
issue. Installation succeeded (looks great so far BTW :-) with the drive moved
to the IDE on the VIA 8233 south bridge.

Comment 2 Brandon Low (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-02-21 20:20:59 UTC
livewire, this should work on the latest liveCD kernel = xfs-sources, yes?
Comment 3 Bob Johnson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-02-21 20:54:33 UTC
yes, this should work on latest experimental livecds xfs-sources-pre4 through pre6
and i know it works on the livecd i have @ www.gentoo.org/~livewire

btw livecd -rc2 was xfs-sources-pre2 (before new ide core)
