Hi. Today I believe I killed two birds with one stone. I recently upgraded to ati-drivers 8.32.5 and have had some great results. Especially considering my video card is an Xpress 200m. Well after just playing around with my laptop i decided to see if I can get DRI working with JUST Sideport enabled (no Sideport+UMA). So this fixes a problem earlier versions of the ati-drivers have had with this video card. Also, at the same time I got XGL to work. No longer do I have the white screen of death but now I can use XGL/Beryl.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Update your drivers to ati-drivers 8.32.5
2. Turn off UMA+Sideport
3.

Actual Results:  
DRI worked in Gentoo like normal and XGL/Beryl works correctly.

Well, good that it works for you... but could you please clarify why is this a bug? :)

It's not a bug. I was just told to post it here if I found a fix for something. So I did. :)
