hello, all! every time I try to emerge banshee, I get an error about the configuration not being able to locate gconf-sharp and gnome-sharp. the error message is as follows: checking for GTKSHARP... configure: error: Package requirements (gtk-sharp-2.0 > = 2.7 gnome-sharp-2.0 >= 2.7 gnome-vfs-sharp-2.0 >= 2.7 g lade-sharp-2.0 >= 2.7 gconf-sharp-2.0 >= 2.7) were not met: No package 'gnome-sharp-2.0' found No package 'gconf-sharp-2.0' found Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GTKSHARP_CFLAGS and GTKSHARP_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details. !!! make sure you have them installed. Clean your /var/tmp/portage that might help.
I updated to the 2.8.2 versions of the libraries, still getting the exact same error message. I cleaned that directory you told me to as well. blackwater ~ # emerge -pv gnome-sharp gconf-sharp These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! You seem to have your files messed up. I'm adding dotnet team so they can take a look too because this doesn't seem related to banshee. Look again if those packages are installed and check the pkgconfig PATH for it.
please excuse me for being a newbie but I'm not too familiar with environment variables, let alone those pertaining to compile time. how would I check and/or verify that files have been installed where they need to be? changed bug name to 0.11.* as it occurs with both .3 and .5
I get this bug too. It seems to affect all mono apps including monodevelop and beagle.
This seems not to be the case with banshee-0.12.* and since 0.12 is in and 0.11 out, I'm closing this bug.
