Description Alexandre Figueiredo 2003-02-18 16:36:55 UTC
Hello,
I install de Gentoo 1.4_RC2 in my Toshiba Notebook, but when I compile the
kernel, it doesn't work good. When I download de Vanilla Sources, the version
is 2.4.20.
My machine is a Satellite 1675 CDS, HD 6Gb, 64 Mb RAM, Sound CS4182 and ATI
RAGE 3D with 4Mb. I gonna put more 128 Mb RAM. I emerge de GNOME Desktop.
I sow on the toshiba support page and discover that my notebook has ACPI. But
this thing doesn't work. This feature is experimental!
So, how can I put my notebook up and running well with Gentoo Linux?
Please, sorry my english. I'm from Brazil.
Thank you.

Try a gentoo-sources, xfs-sources these are the gentoo kernels. If it still doesn't work then it is a kernel bug and will be submitted upstream.
Comment 3 Bob Johnson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-16 17:07:37 UTC
we can only fix gentoo kernels also
Comment 4 Tim Yamin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-25 15:19:35 UTC
We've got random ghost bugs coming up from the dead, sending status back
to INVALID.
