I can confirm this bug. Having userpriv/usersandbox in FEATURES seems to cause the problem: FEATURES="-userpriv -usersandbox" emerge =dev-lang/python-2.4.3-r4 works fine at my system Thomas
Can't reproduce this with 2.4.4.
