Description Juan J. García de Soria 2006-12-30 01:58:36 UTC
After merging gnome 2.16 and trying gnome-power-manager, I got gladly surprised that the setup in my laptop would properly suspend and resume, even while using several binary-blob based drivers (madwifi-ng, nvidia, hsfmodem, see lsmod output below).

However, after upgrading nvidia-drivers from 1.0.9631 to 1.0.9746, it stopped working...

Actually the system seems to properly suspend and resume as before, except for the LCD (re)initialization. The laptop panel starts with some clear thin stripes, and ends up fading all the way to white.

Reverting to 1.0.9631 made the thing work again flawlessly.

Should I file the bug directly with nvidia instead of doing it here?

Thanks in advance,

  Juan Jes

Sounds like a good idea, considering there's nothing we could fix here...
Comment 3 Juan J. García de Soria 2006-12-30 07:42:38 UTC
Added the details of the bug to the previously existing thread in nvnews.net:

Comment 4 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-02 08:33:09 UTC
Unfortunately, there's absolutely nothing that we can do about this, so I'm marking this as UPSTREAM.
