Description SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-12-28 10:41:43 UTC
i have a USB thumb drive i wanted to create a known symlink for in addition to the other symlinks ... so i added this line to my 10-foo.rules file:

KERNEL=="sd*", ENV{ID_BUS}=="usb", ENV{ID_SERIAL}=="CBM_Flash_Disk", SYMLINK+="disk/foo"

when i insert the drive, i dont get the /dev/disk/foo symlink, just the other /dev/disk/by-id/usb-CBM_Flash_Disk and etc... links

if i move 10-foo.rules to 90-foo.rules, it starts working ... i think the relationship here is with 60-persistent-storage.rules ...

What else can I say than:

We cannot do anything about this problem.

If you would like to use environment-variables set by 60-persistent-storage.rules your rules should be execute afterwards.

If that is a problem, perhaps call documentation-team to write that down somewhere.
