Description phintuka 2006-12-24 15:55:09 UTC
Updating evolution from 2.6 to 2.8 breaks config:
 - all folders are ordered by default (?) order ; custom order and rules are lost
 - folder views (message lists +) use _ugly_ _fixed_ courier? font, old congig is not honored. New font makes most of titles and info unreadable.
 - with new config text is a lot more difficult and _slower_ to read (message view)
- several lines / message is used in folder view; it is very difficult to obtain general view of mailbox if 7 messages fill whole screen (previously it was more than 20).
 - "widescreen" is not available anymore (?)

Don't restrict bugs without any reason, please. Just leave the checkboxes alone.

I've migrated a handful of boxes and never saw this bug.
As for widescreen mode, it is not a patch anymore, you can access it with 'Display' -> 'Overview' -> 'Vertical Mode' from the menu (labels may be incorrect)

There are problems with sending mails with accounts of telefonica:
server pop3.telefonica.net
Use Secure Connection: No encryption
Authentication type:password
I have to delete my ~/.gconf/apps/evolution

hi, do you still have problems with evolution ?
As I understand your problem, it's more related to fonts than to evolution in itself. Are you using evolution in a non gnome environment ?
Please provide your emerge --info as well.
